The Lakers have been one of the best defensive teams in the league to start the 2019-20 NBA season, especially in second halves. Could the Lakers be the best defensive team in the NBA this season? Anthony Davis is excelling on both ends of the floor as he’s averaging almost 30 points per game and just had a 40 rebound, 20 block game against the Grizzlies. Could AD win MVP? If LeBron James and Anthony Davis get some consistency from the Lakers’ guards, this team will be hard to beat especially if Dwight Howard continues to play at a high level.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both been very good to start this season. But what about the rest of the Lakers starting five? Avery Bradley and Danny Green have plugged in nicely, but Javale McGee has been underwhelming at the center position. Dwight Howard might take his starting spot. The Lakers’ bench has been inconsistent, but overall pretty good. Look for that unit to improve once Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma get back and healthy.

    Lakers Rumors & News says:

Who's been the Lakers best player so far this season?

    Calvin Ellis says:

Can you please get captions for your show?

    Calvin Ellis says:

    Can you pleaseeeeeeeee ge

    Gary Trafford says:

Yes they can but I don,t know if I want them to spend that much energy in the regular season. They have to be smart as it is a very long season. Top 5 will be good enough for me. We have a good def coach so we will be fine on def.

    Henry Catamisan says:

    Go idol lebron and AD

    Amelia Love Harris Reed says:

    Lakers all the way

    Ryan Spencer says:

    Great video HK!

It is truly refreshing to have the Lakers get off to a great start. However, they're going to be tested over the next three road games. We have a chance to show how great of a team we can be this season. They need to continue playing the right way by stepping up the defense. The offense will come.

I'm looking forward to seeing Kyle Kuzma make his season debut against the Mavs. Kuzma has the opportunity to shine, and give the Lakers an extra boost in their offense and on the defensive end. Hopefully, Rondo can come back and strengthen the bench as well.

AD needs to continue to bring the offensive firepower with each game as well as defending the boards and blocking shots.

Dwight Howard is bringing the effort each night. As long as he continues to hustle and defend the backboard, the fanbase will continue to embrace him.

Javale McGee needs to also be in position to defend the boards and be involved in the offense.

Hopefully, Caruso can have more of an impact on the offense.

One thing I noticed is that each Laker win has improved by 10. Even though they loss Game 1 by 10, they won Game 2 by 9, Game 3 by 19, and Game 4 by 29. Hopefully, the pattern continues!

    Eddie Jackson says:

    Yes They Can

    Dante Breaux says:

    Y👍🏻Go Lakers 🇺🇸🇩🇰

    Ricardo Bernard says:

AD: B+ Although he's been really good, his shooting from the field still need to improve.

Lebron: B- He's is too passive, he's not aggressive enough. He's very basic in his approach. He dribbles the ball down the court then look to dump it to AD. Bron need to mixed it up more, apply screen and roles and incorporate Danny Green and Avery Bradley more, to make the offense more complex to defend.

Danny Green: B His defense is excellent but he disappears too much. His presence is not felt enough. I noticed that when he played for the Raptors. If the offense get better with more ball movement, back cuts, screen and roles maybe he will have more of an impact on offence.

Avery Bradley: B- His defense is good, but he's not that much on an impact on offense. He need to knock down more 3 pointers, he need to drive to the basket every once in a while.

McGee: C It's not his fault he's not doing so great. It's the offense that's being run. How much can he do when the offense is just passing to AD down low and watch. if there was more complexity to the offense he would have more impact. In the long run AD will have to play the 5 to space the floor because Bron will need the middle to drive or kick out to the 3 point shooters.

Bench: C The bench is not good at all. The only person doing good is Dwight Howard. Cook, Caruso, Troy Daniels, has not been consistent. Maybe because the offense has no real ball movement for them to excel.

KCP: F He is just horrible. We all knew he was awful from the previous years so why was he resigned for 8 million. KCP and Lou Williams are getting the same amount and look at the difference in production. Trade KCP and eventually Rondo when the trade deadline come. Rondo has terrible defense and he can't shoot.

    Shrimp Too Fresh says:

B he’s best off the bench we need all that energy off the bench
